The Body Finder
In The Body Finder, there are parallel chapters. The majority of the chapters are from the point of view of Violet, the main character. A few of the chapters are from the point of view of the murderer. There was a chapter that ended with Violet walking alone at night, and then in the next chapter, the murderer saw a girl walking alone at night. The murderer drove his car up by the girl and saw that the girl was crying, and he offered to give her a ride home. She got in the car at the end of that chapter. The next chapter was from Violet's point of view. She was crying and a guy drove up next to her. This created a very suspenseful scene, because that led me to believe that it was the murderer about to kidnap Violet. It turned out to be Violet's friend Jay, and he gave her a ride home. This made me wonder if there was going to be a plot twist where you find out that Jay is actually the murderer, although that scene was most likely just for suspense. It's highly unlikely that Jay would be the murderer, but I am excited to see how the rest of the story turns out.

Actually, the parallel chapters make the story less confusing because you get to see what's going on with the killer and the main character around the same time. It's pretty interesting so I think you would like reading it.
DeleteLike Abby said the parallel chapter idea does sound really interesting, but can it be confusing sometimes? I would like to read this book because it sounds very mysterious and suspenseful. Now I want to no who the murderer is!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIn this story, the parallel chapters actually make it less confusing in my opinion, so you probably won't have anything to worry about if you are interested in reading this.
DeleteThe books that I have read with parallel chapters before were great, but sometimes I find that it makes me confused because of how every chapter switches to a different person. Like some of the other comments I'm wondering as well if this book can be confusing at times and whether or not you have been confused with it. This story seems very suspenseful though and I would love to read it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry about it being confusing because the author writes the parallel chapters in a way that isn't confusing. Also, she doesn't switch back and forth between the main character and the killer way too much.
DeleteAllegiant is almost the same way, with different points of views for each chapter. It was nice at first, but it got very confusing after a couple of chapters,
